Have any of you ever seen the movie Sabrina? The Audrey Hepburn version is good but I mean the new one with Harrison Ford. In Sabrina, a girl goes to Paris and wanders and watches and writes and there she really discovers herself. This is how I feel about D.C. A hard experience but one that I think of often even four years later.
Heber headed out there for a few days and I decided to join him. I had time to go to many of the places I loved. I drank lemonade at a little cafe, I shopped in my favorite stores in old Town Alexandria and stopped to watch and see.
Heb and I went to Williamsburg for a few days. We wanted to be sure to do something new this time. I found the best little bed and breakfast, the Magnolia Manor, to stay in. I believe I am now converted to staying in bed and breakfasts.
We loved walking the streets flanked with colonial homes and reinactors in full dress. What could easily be cheesy and over the top was done in such a way that it was surprisingly fascinating and fun. We ate period food, walked in hedges grown in maze shapes and loved it all.
We also found time to visit some of the tourist spots, white house, monuments and museums. When I told my little nephews that I was going on vacation to Washington D.C. they said, "Barrack Obama's house?" Yup.

you look like you had a great time! I love you guys.
I am glad you went back to your second home.
I really miss that place. I can't stop talking about it. There is so much to learn and see out there.
Looks like you had fun! Thanks so much for following Sensibly Styled!
I've always wanted to go to Washington. How sad is it that I have a history degree concentrating in American and I've never been there!
I'm also dying to go to Williamsburg.
And I plan to stay in a bed and breakfast!
